For Blog Entry #2, you will draw upon what you learned in “How to Read Like a Writer” to practice RLW (Reading Like a Writer) on the text of your choice. This can be a text from another class or your personal reading, but it should be a piece that lends itself to examining the choices the writer makes (and chooses not to make) and the techniques the writer employs. Your analysis should teach you (and your blog readers) something interesting and insightful about how to write.
Your Blog Entry should be about 500 words in length, include specific details, examples, and illustrations from both texts, and include a relevant image.
Your image and texts must be properly cited (with in-text parenthetical citations as well as a Works Cited). See MLA format for one reading below. See general info on the SURF Blog page for information on finding and properly crediting open source images. Remember that all blog entries will be posted on your CI Keys page using the “Posts” feature.
