5-6 Page Polished Draft of Essay #2 (with in-text parenthetical citations and works cited). Use your document in this folder for your essay.
Note that you must use in-text parenthetical citations (author/authors and page #) for any material that is either quoted or paraphrased (put into your own words). Also note that our program prefers paraphrasing over direct quotes. Any direct quotes should be brief, “sandwiched” with your own commentary, and only included if the wording itself is especially convincing or persuasive.

Your analysis should include at least two selections from the Digital Archive of Literacy Narratives along with several other of our required sources. You should also include texts relevant to your own evolution in scientific literacy, if applicable. Use the sources provided to define what scientific literacy is (and what it means to you) and why it matters.

Begin Learning Module 3: Final Portfolio
Review Final Portfolio Requirements for ENGL 105.
Read Three Sample Portfolios. Using the scoring criteria, discuss strengths and weaknesses of each, comparing and ultimately ranking the portfolios. Decide what score seems most appropriate for each portfolio.
Create an Action Plan for effectively polishing and finalizing your portfolios. Consider each element of our scoring criteria as you make a plan for each essay. Consult the requirements for Learning Module 1 and Learning Module 2 to make sure you are meeting all expectations for each assignment.
Remainder of class devoted to open office hours for students who want help with drafts.

Your best possible versions of both portfolio papers. Create a new Google Doc that includes both essays (with a page break in between).
